DESCRIPTION: APW - Elgin, B.W. Raymond, serial #757, 15J, 18S, gold-filled OF G.W. Ladd recase, "National Watch Co." marked white enamel SS dial, KWKS, gilt mvt, s#757. An excellent early example, Elgin began its regular production at serial #101 making the present watch the 657th made by serial number.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent gilt tone, few mild small haze spots, few small fine to micro-fine scratches; virtually flawless dial with an infinitesimal edge nick under bezel near 2; fine hands, minute with ample oxide and finish loss; case shows medium to ample wear, shallow denting to central rear, some fine and profuse micro-fine scratches to cuvette and shallow dent to lower portion of cuvette, reduced engraving detail, engine turning detail virtually fully lost with only the most minuscule traces remaining lightly evident at portions of outermost rear perimeter, thin strips of wear to brass to raised lips of bezel and pendant adjacent band, spots of wear to brass to pendant, inner surface of rear is through entirely to underlying brass and has scattered dark spots; tight bow; good glass crystal with few small bubbles in its finish.
